Introduction

Hello!

I know I should have made this blog for a long time ago but I have been really busy and time just passed by so fast I can't believe it!

So I arrived in the USA on August 1, in New York. I stayed 5 days at an au pair training school on Long Island and it was not my favorite place to be but it was only for a few days so it doesn't matter.
At the au pair training school you are being taught about child care in the USA, driving, safety in general and ideas for what to do with your host children. The agency that I went with is called Cultural Care Au Pair and they operate all over the world. They seem very professional and you have a security in them if you are unhappy with your host family or something else goes wrong. You also have access to go to college while you are here and I will start on Monday.

So I work in Seattle, State Of Washington and I take care of infant who's 4 month old. Now to accept my host family's privacy I will not include any details of their house or their names or anything. I just know that I like to work for them since they are very cool people and they are very relaxed first time parents. I have her almost 10 hours a day and they rarely question my doings since they trust that I can do my job. It's very nice. I have been lucky since I have met au pairs who ended up with bad families that didn't treat them well and made them work over time (the maximum is 10 hours a day and 45 hours a week) and didn't really trust them in their doings. I was nervous to come, no doubt! but at the same time I thought everything would be ok. I took my time finding a decent family that felt comfortable with. I like it in Seattle people here are nice and there are many cool areas and clubs (Yes, I'm over 21!) I live on Queen Anne Hill among many other au pairs. So far we had 2 au pair meetings, it happens monthly that our LCC makes a meeting and makes sure that everything is ok. I recently had a new LCC and my au pair group split up and it was rather confusing. At the first meeting we just met at Queen Anne Beer Hall and had something to eat and just talked. At the second meeting we went on a scavenger hunt in Down Town Seattle. I had a lot of fun with the group that I was in.

Well, I'm tired and I have another long work day tomorrow with my girl.
